Crystal Newby-Reynolds RSS

Mrs. Newby-Reynolds is a graduate of the former East Orange High School, East Orange, NJ. She studied dance at the official school of Garden State Ballet and Gallman’s Newark Dance Theatre School. She began performing with Gallman’s Dance Theatre at age seventeen.  She is a graduate of Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD. where she studied dance and physical education earning a B.S.  While at Morgan, she received many awards and scholarships in dance.  She received a Master of Arts from New York University after studying Performing Arts Administration and Dance Education. Her passion and love for dance is seen throughout the community, for she has taught for many children and adult programs in the Oranges and Newark. Over the last 20 years, she has taught dance at Jackson Academy, Washington Academy and Whitney E. Houston Academy. Her students have performed for numerous events including NJPAC Arts Festival, the Educational Law Center’s “Kids in Concert” (2005 & 2007) and a rally for Senator Barack Obama. Mrs. Newby-Reynolds is the dance ministry director for St. Matthew AME Church, Orange, NJ. In 2000, she founded the Arts Conservatory, Inc.  for all to discover the artist within.  In Mrs. Newby-Reynolds’ class, learners will explore the world through dance from an interdisciplinary approach. "Dance allows learners to put cognitive skills in motion."
